Whistler Get-Away

I was very lucky to be spending my birthday weekend away in Whistler. Being my second time going there, I was super excited! I was preparing myself for a 3 hour trip (thinking it took that long). It was totally not the case when we arrived after a hour and a half drive, yay! When we arrived at the Westin Hotel I couldn't get over how amazing the lobby smelt: like a fresh forest with tall trees and a river full of salmon!

When we arrived to our fabulous room I quickly got changed into my birthday apparel for dinner. My boyfriend surprised me by taking me to the Barefoot Bistro in the village and booyy was it good! I unfortunately couldn't take any photos of my food because well, it was pretty high end and I would be getting a lot of glares from people. Across the room from me I noticed Canucks hockey player #22, can you guess? Daniel Sedin.. Or maybe his brother? I'm not sure quite sure which one is who. After dinner I did some walking around the village to witness some of the crazy things teens are doing these days. It honestly wasn't too long before we decided to call it a night.

After my beauty sleep Saturday I had the whole day to myself to relax and enjoy what Whistler had to offer. Unfortunately the weather was seriously poopy so I decided not to go snowboarding, which I initially intended to. I didn't realize how small the village was! As I wondered around the village, across the rice rink was a cute coffee/bake shop packed with people, I wanted to go there! Of course my boyfriend and I did. I ordered the carrot cake and cranberry bliss bar to go with my hot chocolate. Both were a good decision, I wanted more!

Saturday ended with going to the movies to see American Sniper which I really enjoyed. Before that I engulfed some chicken wings and caesar salad at the Crystal Lounge. Can't go wrong with $.25 wings! After a long day of roaming around and taking it easy, Sunday couldn't of come any faster.
Sunday was what I was really looking forward to before leaving back home from whistler. For my birthday I received credit to the Scandinave Spa. It was such a wonderful experience! After the massage, I had full access to the baths, relaxing room, and the sauna! This is definitely a must try experience.
Well that went by fast. Birthday week is over and I'm another year older! Until next year.
